DUI & Criminal Defense

What do I do after getting arrested for a Driving Under the Influence (DUI)?

First, contact an attorney.

You should contact an attorney that practices in the area of Criminal Defense and DUI Defense. The attorneys at Stamm Romero & Associates, PC, LLO, are seasoned in the many specific components involved in successfully defending a DUI charge. However, an attorney may not be able to take full advantage of the defenses available to you unless you contact them within the few weeks that follow your arrest.

Contact us today for your FREE ½ hour in-office consultation with the lawyers of Stamm Romero & Associates PC, LLO located in Kearney by appointment. We accept all credit cards, including Discover and AmEx.

Second, make sure to calendar your court dates, and keep the Courts and DMV up-to-date on your address and contact information.

Some of the worst outcomes in a DUI, or any criminal case, can be caused by not appearing at Court as ordered, and/or missing information that was sent to a wrong address. Not receiving information because your address was incorrect is NOT a defense to a warrant for your arrest or a loss of your driving privileges. Again, an attorney may not be able to take full advantage of the defenses available to you unless you have kept them updated on the progression of your case prior to their involvement.

Third, schedule classes and counseling.

Based on your blood or breath alcohol content upon your arrest, many classes and counseling sessions may be warranted. An experienced attorney will be able to help direct you into classes and counseling that may lead to a better outcome in your criminal case if done early. The attorneys at Stamm Romero & Associates, PC, LLO, have over 20 years of combined experience in all aspects of the DUI procedure. They are experienced in the expectations of the Courts and aggressive in protecting their client’s rights and best interests.
